Logo makers by industry
What is a logo maker?
A logo maker, or logo creator, is a tool for designing a logo yourself. You don’t start from a blank page. You start from a finished design and change it until it fits your brand: the name, the fonts, the colors and where everything sits. An online logo maker like ours runs in your browser, so there’s nothing to install and no design software to learn.
Ours is built on a library of logo templates. Each one is a complete logo, with a symbol, a layout and lettering that already work together. Type your brand name once and every template is set with it, so you compare real options instead of a wall of designs that all say “Your Brand”. The search also reads your name for its meaning, so templates with a fitting symbol move up the list.
Pick one and it opens in the editor, where every part can change. Designing and previewing cost nothing and need no account. You pay once, only for the logo you download. If you’re comparing free tools, our free logo maker guide is a good place to start.
How to make a logo with our logo maker, step by step
This is the route we’d take, start to finish. For the long version with screenshots, read our guide on how to use a logo maker.
- Type your brand name exactly as you write it. Add a slogan only if you’re sure you want one.
- Narrow the results with the filters for industry, style, color and font. If you have a picture in mind, type it as a keyword, like “coffee” or “crown”.
- Open three or four favorites and compare them side by side before you commit to one.
- In the editor, get the text right first, then the colors, then the spacing.
- Look at it small and on a dark background, and download your files once nothing bothers you.
Choosing a template worth editing
Colors are the easiest thing to change, so don’t pick a template for its colors. Pick it for its structure, because that’s the part you keep.
Start with the layout. A symbol beside the name fits wide spaces like a website header or a shop sign. A symbol stacked on top fits square ones, like a profile picture or a sticker. Badges and emblems hold everything inside one shape, which looks great on a coffee cup and gets crowded with a long name.
Then the symbol. It should say something true about what you do, or at least nothing wrong. Our editor changes a symbol’s colors, size and position, but it can’t swap it for a different one, so choose a template whose symbol already fits. If none does, a wordmark (just your name, set well) or a lettermark made from your initials may serve you better.
Last, the lettering. Heavy, rounded letters feel friendly. A fine serif feels calm and a little more expensive. Neither is better, so ask which one your customers would expect; our guide on how to choose a font for your logo walks through the main kinds. Still undecided? Browse some logo ideas for your industry and notice which shapes you keep coming back to.
Customizing your logo in the editor
The editor shows your logo in the middle, its layers on the left and the settings for whatever you select on the right. Click any part to edit it, or double-click text to type straight onto the canvas.
Text has the settings you’d expect: font, size, letter spacing, line height, alignment and a switch for capitals. The font list holds every family used across the library, and you can search it by name.
Select the symbol and you get one swatch for each of its colors. Change a swatch and that color changes everywhere in the symbol, so a two-tone design stays two-tone. The background takes a preset or any color you pick, and your download includes a transparent version anyway.
For spacing, drag, resize or rotate any element, and use the arrow keys to nudge it in small steps. The layers list lets you hide a part to see the logo without it, and any element can be duplicated, flipped, made more transparent, moved forward or back, or deleted.
Undo and redo cover every change, and Reset puts the template back the way it was. Your work is saved in this browser, so you can close the tab and pick it up later.
The files you get with your logo
When you’re happy with it, click Download and pay once. Every purchase includes a commercial license, the fonts are open source and free to use in logos, and a short README in the zip says which file goes where. If the formats are new to you, our guide to logo file formats explains each one in plain words.
A template logo comes in every format for one price, so you never have to guess which file you’ll need:
- SVG and PDF vector files that stay sharp at any size, for print, signs and merch. The text is turned into outlines, so the logo looks the same on every computer.
- PNG and WebP images from 512 to 4,096 pixels wide, on a transparent background, for websites, documents and social media.
- Versions for different spaces: the logo on its background, the symbol and the name on their own when the design has both, and one-color black and white versions.
- A favicon set for browser tabs and phone home screens, plus square profile pictures on your brand color.
Logo maker, AI logo generator or designer?
All three can get you a good logo. The real difference is how much of the deciding you want to do yourself.
A logo maker suits you if you like to decide. You start from a layout that already works, and every choice after that is yours. The trade-off is that templates are shared starting points, so someone else may begin with the same design.
An AI logo generator suits you if you’d rather react than decide. You describe your brand, pick a style and get original designs drawn around your exact name. Our 3D logo maker goes further, with depth, light and materials that a template can’t give you. You steer the first draft less, but an AI logo bought as an SVG opens in the same editor.
A designer is worth it when the logo carries a lot of weight: a company that plans to grow fast, a product that sits on store shelves, a rebrand. You pay for research, original drawing and someone who gets to know your business, which costs more and takes longer. Starting with a logo maker and hiring a designer once you know what you need is a sensible plan too.
Tips for a logo that looks professional
Logos look homemade because of small decisions more often than big ones. A few habits help:
- Use two fonts at most. One font in two weights often looks even better.
- Keep the slogan to about five words, or leave it out. Long lines turn into a gray smudge when the logo is small.
- Limit yourself to a few colors, and make sure the name stands out from the background.
- Zoom out until the logo is favicon size, then put it on a dark background. If it falls apart, simplify it.
- Skip glows and hairline details. They look fine on a screen and vanish in print.
- Test the finished files with our free logo checker. It runs six checks, from transparency to how the logo holds up as a 32-pixel favicon, and tells you what to fix.
Who our free logo maker is for
It’s for anyone who needs a good logo without turning it into a project: a new café or shop, a freelancer’s first website, a podcast, a club, an online store, or a side project you want to test before spending real money on it.
It also suits people who like to try things. Every edit is free, so you can test ten color schemes and keep none of them. If you make logos for several brands or clients, the packs on our pricing page include unlimited logo template downloads while they last.

Logo maker questions
Designing is. You can search the templates, edit them and preview the result as often as you like, with no account and no card. Previews carry a watermark. When you want the clean files, you pay once for that logo, with no subscription. Current prices are on our pricing page.
No. Every template is already a balanced logo, so the hard choices about layout and spacing are made before you start. Your job is to pick well and change a few things with care. If an edit goes wrong, undo it, or press Reset to get the template back as it was.
Every format with one purchase: SVG and PDF vectors, PNG and WebP up to 4,096 pixels on a transparent background, black and white versions, the symbol and the name on their own when the design has both, a favicon set and social profile images. We also email you a download link.
Yes. Once you’ve paid for a logo, you can use it for personal and commercial purposes, worldwide and with no time limit: on your website, products, signs and ads. Free previews aren’t licensed, so buy the files before you use the logo.
Yes. Your logo is kept in My logos. Sign in with the email you used at checkout, open the logo, change the text, colors or layout, and download the new version at no extra cost. Before you buy, your edits are saved in your browser.
Use logo templates when you want a proven layout and control over every detail. Use the AI logo generator when you want an original design drawn around your name, in styles from minimalist to 3D. Your first AI design is free when you sign up with your email or Google.
Templates are shared starting points, so someone else can begin with the same design. Your name, colors and edits make yours different, but the license isn’t exclusive. An AI logo is made for you and never offered to anyone else, which makes it a better start for a distinctive mark. Either way, we can’t promise that a logo can be registered as a trademark, so run a trademark search before you register it.
Not to design. The templates and the editor work without one, and you can buy a template logo with just your email at checkout. An account, with your email or Google, keeps the logos you buy in My logos, so you can download and edit them again on any device.
